Houston Putnam Lowry and Frank Sacramone, Jr., Esq. presented a paper entitled "Post-Mortem On An Arbitration: How To Make That Arbitration Clause Work In Practice" to the Connecticut Bar Association's ADR section on September 19, 2007.  A copy of the written materials is available here.

Thomas J. Welsh moderated a panel at the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys on "Secured Lending in a Small, Small World - Conventions and Other Activities Abroad That May Affect Secured Transactions in the United States". The materials consisted of a cover sheet, report, summary of the UNCITRAL receivables assignment convention, UNCITRAL assignment of receivables convention, proposed United States declarations and understandings to the convention, and August 27, 2007 draft note on secured transactions legislative guide.

The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) published Houston Putnam Lowry's short article entitled "How do I get my stolen domain name back" in their July 2007 issue.  A copy is available here.

Thomas J. Welsh and Houston Putnam Lowry were named "SuperLawyers" by Connecticut magazine for 2007.

The Hartford Courant wrote about Brown & Welsh, P.C.'s suit against the United States concerning the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005.  A copy of the story is here.

Brown & Welsh, P.C. joined the The Connecticut Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys as a plaintiff to challenge certain provisions of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005.  A copy of the press release is here.

The Connecticut Judicial Department approved the multi-jurisdictional practice amendments to the Connecticut Rules of Professional Conduct on June 29, 2007, to be effective January 1, 2008.  A red-line version of the amendments from the July 24, 2007 Connecticut Law Journal are available here.
